In 1981, more than 400,000 people around New Zealand protested against the National Government's decision to ignore the United Nations sporting ban on apartheid South Africa. The first Springbok test agains the All Blacks was on August 15.
Students from Ao Tawhiti school interviewed protestors, rugby players, police offers, journalists and historians to collect memories of this event. This story walk is one way that Our Stories Project Trust is working to make local history accessible.
